Read this. It's short.

House rules

  1. Don't be a prick.
  2. See rule 1.
  3. No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or any other bollocks. Out you go, no warnings.
  4. Swearing's fine. It's a punk forum. Swearing at someone is not.
  5. Slagging off Johnny's hair is allowed. Threatening Smackpot is not. He'll find you.
  6. Nothing illegal: no threats, no harassment, no nicking other people's photos, no posting people's addresses or phone numbers.
  7. No selling tickets above face value. Swaps and face-value sales only.
  8. No spam, no flogging your mate's crypto.
  9. 18 and over only.

Rat points

Every upvote someone gives one of your posts earns you a rat point, and so does every thread you start. You can't vote for yourself (Johnny asked). Posts and threads a mod hides, or you delete, stop counting. Ranks go Sewer Rat, Gutter Rat (15 points), Pit Rat (40), Mosh Rat (75), Big Cheese (150) and Rat King (350).

If something's wrong

Hit Report on the post. The band or a mod will look at it within a week, and hide it if it breaks the rules. If it's urgent or illegal, email forum@wearerathole.com as well.

Think we got it wrong (your post was hidden or you were banned)? Email the same address and tell us why. We'll have another look.

Mods can hide posts, lock threads and ban accounts. New accounts' first posts may wait for a mod to approve them, which stops spam bots.

What we keep about you

  • Your email address, to send login links. Nobody else on the forum sees it, and we never use it for marketing unless you sign up to the mailing list separately.
  • Your rat name and your posts, which everyone can see.
  • When you joined and were last about, and any reports or moderation involving you.
  • One login cookie, which keeps you logged in for 30 days. That's the only cookie, and it's needed for the forum to work, so there's no cookie banner.

It's stored with Cloudflare, who host the site. Login emails go through Resend. We don't sell or share it with anyone else, and there's no tracking.

Want it gone? Go to your account and press Delete my account. Your email and name go straight away. Your posts stay up as "Ex-rat", or you can delete those too.
